Chitungwiza residents commend efforts by Zanu PF

By ZBC Reporter
CHITUNGWIZA residents have expressed gratitude to the Zanu PF local leadership for rescuing them at a time the opposition-led council is failing to deliver on its mandate.
For years, Chitungwiza residents have had to contend with poor service delivery by the council and it is against this background that the Zanu PF District Coordinating Committee
(DCC) 1 Chairperson, Gideon Mafukidze responded to the plight of Zengeza 1 residents in Chitungwiza.
Mafukidze assisted by providing fuel to assist in the maintenance of burst sewer pipes in the area.
“We are very disappointed in MDC led council but we want to thank Mr Mafukidze for responding to our plight. Now we hope for better,” said one resident.
The DCC chairperson and the Central Committee member for Chitungwiza, Andy Mhlanga highlighted that the situation has become so dire that residents are now being forced to raise their resources to give to the local authority for service delivery.
“As residents, we have suffered from the poor delivery system by the MDC led council, so it’s now time for us to chip in as residents for the betterment of our lives. This has prompted us to assist with 45litres of fuel for a start,” said Mhlanga.
Efforts to get a comment from the council, which had commenced work, were fruitless as they refused to speak to ZBC News.
Chitungwiza Mayor, Lovemore Mayiko refused to comment, before disappearing from the scene.
