TAKESURE Chiragwi has been appointed interim coach at Premier Soccer League side Ngezi Platinum Stars after the Mhondoro-based club parted ways with head coach Rodwell Dhlakama.
Title aspirants Ngezi Platinum Stars have sent head coach, Rodwell Dhlakama on an indefinite leave just nine days before the resumption of the Premier Soccer league.
The Mhondoro based side is second on the PSL log standings with seven points from three matches.
The former Monomotapa and Chapungu coach guided Ngezi Platinum to two successive Chibuku Super Cup finals in 2019 and 2021 but they all ended in defeat.
The club has since confirmed that respected young coach and former CAPS United left back, Takesure Chiragwi, who was Dhlakama’s assistant will take charge of the team on an interim basis.
“Yes we have put Chiragwi on interim basis to lead the club as we resume the league, we can’t comment any further on the coach because these are contractual issues but we have mutually agreed that he takes an indefinite leave of absence,” said Nyasha Kadenge, Ngezi Platinum Stars Chief Executive Officer.
Dhlakama also confirmed the development, but he refused to comment.
This is not the first time that Ngezi Platinum have fired the Coach under mysterious circumstances with the same fate having fallen Tonderai Ndiraya in 2018.
Ndiraya was fired with only four league games remaining before the end of the season while the team was within touching distance of the Premiership title.
