THE President of China, Xi Jinping, has called for continued solidarity with African countries in building a China-Africa community with a shared future.
In his keynote address at the opening of the Eighth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) President Xi Jinping said the two cooperating partners have forged an unbreakable brotherly bond in their struggle against imperialism and colonialism while embarking on a distinctive path of cooperation and development.
Over the past three years, China and Africa have worked together to fully implement eight major initiatives and other key outcomes of the Beijing Summit while also completing a large number of major cooperation projects.
Statistics indicate that trade in goods between China and Africa rose 27.4 percent year on year to about 210 billion U.S. dollars in the January-October period.
Meanwhile, President Xi Jinping has announced that China will provide an additional one billion doses of vaccines for Africa to battle COVID-19.
He said China will also assist African countries in carrying out 10 health care projects, and send 1,500 medical workers and public health experts to Africa.
The Forum on China- Africa Cooperation is being held in Dakar, Senegal.
