CHILDREN aged three and above are now eligible for vaccination against COVID-19.
This was revealed by Vice President General (Rtd) Dr Constantino Chiwenga who is also the Minister of Health and Child Care.
Vice President Chiwenga announced the latest development in Banket after taking part in a clean-up exercise in Mashonaland West Province this Friday.
He said the programme will start this month and urged those already vaccinated to take the booster vaccine.
“COVID-19 is still with us. Those yet to be vaccinated please take the vaccine. This July children aged three and above will be vaccinated,” he said.
He also spoke on the cold spell urging citizens to keep warm as temperatures will be much lower this winter.
“Due to the Aphleon phenomenon, the winter is expected to end in August so as a result we expect many people to suffer from flue. We urge parents to ensure infants are kept warm.”
Vice-president Chiwenga also urged the nation to be on guard for monkey pox after two cases were identified in South Africa.
