THE Chevrons have won the International Cricket Council Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier B after beating the at Queens Sports Club.

It’s five out of five for the Chevrons as they march into the World Cup after winning the qualifiers.

On a bright and Sunny day at Queens Sports Club, the fans turned up in their numbers and the boys did not disappoint.

After posting a low total, the team was able to defend it with ease, a feat which pleased Head Coach Dave Houghton as he aims to restore Zimbabwe’s old glory.

It feels good to win. The objective was to put day light between us and these associate nations. Over the years the gap has reduced, but we are happy we managed to take our place, we have been playing test cricket for 30 years and this was shown in our performances in this tournament,” he said.

Sikander Raza walked away with the man of the match award as well as the overall player of the tournament after illuminating the City of Kings with his batting and bowling performances.

For winning the tournament the Chevrons will join West Indies, Scotland and Ireland in group B at the T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.
