Chevrons leave for Bangladesh tour

THE Zimbabwe cricket team has left the country for a tour of Bangladesh which begins next week.
The Zimbabwe senior cricket team, the Chevrons who seem to be fairly busy during this first quarter of the year having hosted Sri-Lanka last month have left Harare for Bangladesh ahead of their tour which begins on the 22nd of this month.
Stand-in captain in the absence of Sean Williams, Craig Ervine is looking forward to building on the Sri Lanka tour which Zimbabwe lost 1-0.
“We are positive of better results, it’s not going to be easy but with the youngsters we have I am confident we can do better. Playing Bangladesh in their back yard has never been a stroll in the park but with the current crop of Chevrons we will do an amazing job,” he said
Zimbabwe will clash against Bangladesh Board XI in a two-day practice match on the 18th and 19th of this month before facing the Tigers in a one-off test three days later.
Three one-day internationals will follow between the two countries before the tour is wrapped up with two T20 matches.
Zimbabwe who were suspended by the International Cricket Council last year due to government interference, will, however, be hoping for a new beginning this season.
