Chevrons dominate first day of the Bangladesh test

The Zimbabwe national cricket side, the Chevrons dominated the first day of the test match against Bangladesh at Harare Sports Club with the visitors ending day one on 294 for 8.

Blessing Muzarabani is a man of records and on the first day of the only test against Bangladesh he joined disgraced former captain Heath Streak as the only Zimbabwean bowlers to take a wicket in the first over of a test match on at least three occasions.

The lanky bowler dismissed Said Hasan off the fifth ball of the day before getting Najmul Hossain, two overs later and he would grab the all-important wicket of Mushfiqur Rahim just after lunch.

In between- Muzarabani’s exploits, Richard Ngarava and Victor Nyauchi also grabbed wickets to keep the Tigers on the back foot.

A century partnership between Liton Das and Mahmudullar Riyad tried to wrestle control of the game away from Zimbabwe, but Donald Tiripano grabbed two quick wickets at the end of the day.

Going into day two, the Chevrons need to get the remaining two wickets without much damage to the score board.
