THE First lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa has donated an assortment of food stuffs to care homes in Matabeleland South Province to help cushion the institutions against hunger.

It’s been over a week since the First lady, Umama Auxillia Mnangagwa last visited Gwanda Old People’s home and donated food stuffs to the institution.

As if that was not enough, the First lady through her Angel of Hope Foundation has once again replenished the food stocks of the care home with another consignment of groceries.

For authorities at the facility, Umama Mnangagwa’s kind gesture will forever be cherished.

We feel greatly privileged and favoured to be among the institutions that have received support from the First Lady. For us to be remembered once again, through this donation is humbling. We want to thank our mother most sincerely for her show of love towards all her children, they said.

Handing over the groceries to the home, the Matabeleland South Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Cde Abednico Ncube said the food staffs will go a long way in meeting the food needs of the beneficiaries.

Even the bible says it is more blessed to give than to receive, so we want to thank the first lady for all she has done for this province. These groceries will certainly cushion our institutions from hunger, said Ncube.

The groceries comprise mealie meal, cooking oil, rice, soap, sugar and salt, and will also benefit three children’s homes and some artists in the province.
