CAF appoints Maringwa for high-stakes Champions League final

FORMER Dynamos midfielder Desmond Maringwa has been appointed match commissioner for the first leg of the CAF Champions League Final between Mamelodi Sundowns and AS FAR.
The high-profile encounter will be played in Pretoria on May 15, marking another major milestone in Maringwa’s growing influence within continental football administration.
Currently president of the Footballers Union of Zimbabwe and vice president of FIFPRO Africa, Maringwa brings extensive experience in football governance and regulation.
In his role, he will oversee all organisational and regulatory aspects of the final, ensuring compliance with Confederation of African Football protocols while coordinating teams, match officials, and the host venue.
Meanwhile, Congolese referee Jean-Jacques Ndala has been appointed to officiate the match. Ndala previously handled the Africa Cup of Nations Final between Senegal and Morocco.
