A Zanu PF provincial inter-district conference held in Bulawayo this Saturday resolved that President Emmerson Mnangagwa be the sole candidate in the forthcoming presidential elections.
“As Bulawayo province, our first resolution is that our first secretary and President Cde ED Mnangagwa will stand as the sole party presidential candidate in the 2023 elections.”
Other resolutions include the decentralisation of the government tender system in line with the Second Republic’s devolution agenda and the proposed incorporation of the Chitepo School of Ideology in the education curriculum.
“As a province we resolved that local people should take priority when tenders are issued locals can contribute meaningfully to the growth of provincial economies.”
Politburo member Lieutenant General Retired, Cde Engelbert Rugeje challenged party members to select development-oriented candidates.
“The only way for us to develop the nation is only through unity. Less shy away from power squabble and select people that have capabilities to represent the interests of the masses.”
Currently, cells of the revolutionary party have over three million members registered as it continues on a drive to attain five million votes in the 2023 elections.
