Mutare woman (40) up for robbery

A daring 40-year-old woman from Mutare is in the dock on allegations of robbery after getting away with groceries worth more than RTGS$10 000 at gun point.

MeCleenah Nyatito and her accomplice, Cosmas Kwashata (41) were remanded in custody when they appeared in court this Tuesday.

It is the state’s case that on the 23rd of last month at around 3 pm, the pair went into a shop in Zimunya where they ordered an assortment of groceries and told the shopkeeper they would pay using Ecocash.

The court heard that while the shopkeeper was packing the groceries Nyatito pulled out a pistol while her alleged accomplice packed the groceries into their getaway car.

It is alleged that the pair then drove off in an unregistered Madza 323 vehicle.

The complainant made a police report and the duo was arrested at a shopping centre in Dangamvura.

The pair will be back in court on the 1st of next month.
