A 29- year-old Harare man has appeared in court on allegations of fraud involving US$15 thousand in a botched car deal.

Ncedhani Nsingo allegedly duped the complainant of more than 15 thousand United States dollars in a botched car deal.

The court heard that sometime in 2020, the complainant was looking for a vehicle to purchase and approached Ncedani Nsingo who stated that he was selling a Toyota Fortuner for US$35 thousand.

Mr Lancelot Mutsokoti prosecuting, told the court that the complainant became interested in the deal and offered US$8 500 and other two vehicles as payment.

The court further heard that on the 20th of July in 2020 an agreement of sale was signed between the two upon payment of the outstanding balance.

It is alleged that the complainant proceeded to ZIMRA offices to verify the authenticity of the documents of the vehicle where he was told that the documents were fake and the vehicle in question was never paid for the customs duty as claimed by Nsingo.

A police report was made leading to the arrest of the accused.

Nsingo was remanded in custody to next Monday.

Meanwhile, 33 year old Cliff Dzikiti has appeared in court for allegedly raping a 11-year old girl.

The accused was remanded in custody to the 8th of next month and advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
