Sanganai/Hlanganani Expo to showcase the country’s hidden tourism gems

Story by Lisa Masuku

THIS year’s Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo is targeting to market Zimbabwe’s hidden tourism gems which are central to the envisaged five billion United States dollar tourism economy by 2025.

Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Chief Executive Officer Ms Winnie Muchanyuka this Friday toured the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo to assess preparations for the Sanganai/ Hlanganani World Tourism Expo which runs from the 12th to the 14th of this month.

“All the country’s ten provinces have taken up space here, we want to show that our tourism economy is not just about Victoria Falls but we also have hidden gems that are critical in promoting the country’s tourism economy,” she said.

With this year’s edition promising to be bigger and better after attracting more than 300 exhibitors and buyers compared to last year’s 275, the expo is targeting to advance the country’s tourism economy by ensuring maximum engagement of local and regional exhibitors.

The annual tourism expo provides a platform for local and international tourism players to scout for business opportunities and clinch deals that position Zimbabwe as the leading tourism destination.
