PREPARATIONS for the final junior tennis tournament of the year set for Bulawayo next month are at an advanced stage, with athletes gearing up for a thrilling conclusion to the year.
It will be a dog eat dog affair when junior tennis players from across the Southern region collide in the last tournament of the year in Bulawayo from the 18th of December.
The tournament is expected to offer a good platform for athletes who failed to participate in international events held this year to showcase their talent.
Bulawayo Metropolitan province Tennis Board Chairperson Tarwira Chikunichawa is satisfied with the preparations, saying they are expecting stiff competition in the tournament.
“As you know that we are now concluding the year we thought of coming up with a tournament that will give our budding players an opportunity to shine and I can safely say preparations are going well,” said Tarwira Chikunichawa, Bulawayo Metropolitan province Tennis Board Chairperson.
The tournament, which will be held from the 18th to the 21st of next month, will witness players from the under – 9 to 18 category battling for honours.
