Bulawayo ready to host 42 Uhuru celebrations

THE city of Bulawayo is ready to welcome delegates who will be part of the 42nd independence celebrations that will be held for the first-time outside Harare.

The Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Judith Ncube confirmed the city’s readiness to host the national event.

“This is the first time that the city is hosting this key national event and my call is that let us come in numbers and lead in this event as we remember the life sacrifice by gallant sons and daughters of the soil who took up arms to liberate us,” said Hon Ncube.

She also disclosed that festivities will start at the ancient city of Ngami Ruins with the lighting of the independence flame, before the main event which will be led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa at Barbourfields Stadium.
