A local anti-sanctions lobby group has handed over a letter to the United States of America embassy reiterating the call for the removal of illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe.
The letter, which was addressed to the speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and American President Joe Biden, was handed over to the US Ambassador in Zimbabwe Brian Nichols by the Broad Alliance Against Sanctions (BAAS) this Wednesday.
Broad Alliance Against Sanctions co-founder and spokesperson Sally Ngoni said removal of sanctions by the USA is key to the prosperity of Zimbabwe.
“The sanctions are hurting the majority and we do not need them actually it is high time they should are emoved.”
The organisation says sanctions imposed by the US on Zimbabwe have been detrimental to the lives of ordinary citizens and are hindering socio-economic development.
