Support for the First Lady, Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa’s humanitarian response programmes benefiting thousands of senior citizens and other vulnerable groups countrywide has intensified with religious arm, Eubert Angel Foundation, becoming the latest partner in the initiative.

A consignment of one thousand, ten-kilogramme bags of mealie meal handed over to the Angel of Hope Foundation this Monday has come as a major boost to programmes being undertaken by the First Lady to cushion vulnerable groups against the shocks of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I want to thank the Eubert Angel Foundation for this donation which will be utilized to support food-insecure families in rural communities. This is a huge gesture which will scale up our activities as Angel of Hope Foundation as we respond to the challenges that are facing many especially vulnerable women children and the elderly, said the First Lady.

Eubert Angel Foundation founder  Prophetess Beverly Angel said  her organisation  recognizes the positive impact of the work being carried out by the First Lady, hence the partnership.

“We have seen the work that the Foundation is doing and we decided to partner with the First Lady in our small way. We hope that this will be able to cushion some of the affected families that are suffering and we also want to say this is not the last time that we shall be working with the First Lady but there are also a number of programmes we shall be looking at,” she said.

The First Lady’s humanitarian support programmes have so far benefited thousands of food insecure households in urban and rural areas.
