Government says Arlington Suburb and Leengate Housing Development properties near the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport will not be destroyed as they were approved by regulatory bodies.

This was revealed by the Permanent Secretary for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Harare Metropolitan Province, Mr Tafadzwa Muguti who was quick to warn land developers against encroaching into the Airport Red Zone.

“We don’t have any problem with those developers like Leengate and Arlington residents with tittle deeds as they were cleared by Civil Aviation Authorities of Zimbabwe, CAAZ, there are all above board,” said Muguti.

Mr Tafadzwa Muguti, however, warned land developers against encroaching into the Airport Red Zone.

“We are saying those who abuse the name of the President to invade land within the red zone of the airport will be dealt with accordingly,” he added.

Information gathered shows that housing development projects along the Airport Road are being implemented in accordance with laws and by-laws of the country and in full compliance with all regulatory bodies, including the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe.
