THE First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa has urged children from child care institutions not to be limited by their backgrounds but to aim higher and achieve their goals.
She was speaking when she handed over an assortment of clothes and groceries through her Angel of hope foundation to SOS children’s village in Harare this Tuesday.
The Angel of hope foundation team first toured SOS children’s village before interacting with the children who stay at the village.
In a speech read on her behalf by Angel of Hope board member, Mrs Racheal Niels-Geranios the First Lady, Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa called on the children at the village to prioritise their education for a brighter future.
“Children are our future that is why we are here to support the children; I have come with a few foodstuffs and clothes for the children, I know it’s not easy to look after children from an early age, go to school and always persevere for a brighter future,” she said.
SOS children’s village national director, Mr Addmore Makunura thanked the first lady for the donation.
“Amai Mnangagwa saw it fit to remember us and we really appreciate the gesture as SOS and this will go a long way in assisting us,” he said.
