THE United States government says it is keen to see improved cooperation with Zimbabwe on the business front.
This Wednesday the charge de affairs of the American embassy in Zimbabwe, Thomas Hastings met the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Senator Monica Mutsvangwa where a number of issues, including cooperation on the economic front came under the spotlight.
Emerging from the closed-door meeting, Hastings said he would like to see stronger economic ties between the two countries.
“The largest area of corporation we have is under the health department, we also wish to have stronger economic ties between Zim and US. Wish to promote US companies to come here,” he said.
Senator Mutsvangwa said they also discussed media reforms that have taken place in Zimbabwe.
“We had an interesting meeting, we discussed a lot of issues and the kind of corporation we would like to happen. We also spoke about developmental issues,” she said.
Zimbabwe continues on the engagement and re-engagement path under the Second Republic as it seeks to ensure it fits well into the family of nations.
