The enumeration exercise will be conducted from the 21st to the 30th of April.

This was revealed by Zimstat Director for Demography and Social Statistics, Mr Aluwisio Mukavhi on the sidelines of a training workshop for enumerators in Harare this Tuesday.

“Everything is on course and we are ready for the census in April. This year we will be using tablets for the door to door exercise. We tested our machinery and we have everything that is required for us to have a successful census. We are here training our master trainers who will cascade the training to level two and three enumerators,” he said.

Despite having gone digital, the self-enumeration service platform is not yet available online, hence the use of physical enumerators to collect data.

“We do not have that facility as yet, so people have to be cooperative with the enumerators who will be moving door to door. Everyone within our borders is expected to participate in the census,” he added.

According to the treasury, the 2022 population census is expected to be conducted for 85 million United States dollars.
