SEVERAL top drawer local artists are set to perform at the Culture Week concert slated for this Saturday in Harare.
The culture week concert to be held at ZBC Pockets Hill studios in Harare this Saturday aims to celebrate the cultural diversity that the nation is endowed with.
National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) Spokesperson, Rodney Ruwende said the Zimbabwe Culture Week is a seven-day event that celebrates the importance of cultural diversity in the country through various cultural and artistic expressions.
“Culture week is important on our calendar because this is the day we celebrate our cultural diversity and artistic expressions. It enables Zimbabwe to reflect on her diversified culture while reminding Zimbabweans of the need to safeguard cultural practices. Such practices are integral components of the nation’s cultural heritage in both tangible and intangible forms. Culture Week is an opportune time to promote and showcase the diversity of the Zimbabwean culture.” noted Ruwende.
A number of artists are lined up to perform and these include Mathias Mhere, Hope Masike, Selmor Mtukudzi, Tammy Moyo, Albert Nyathi, Kiren Zulu, T Gonz, Willis Wattafi, Ishan, King 98 and Jeys Marabhini.
