Algeria denounces sanctions imposed on Zim by the West

THE Algerian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, His Excellency Nourredine Yazid has paid a Courtesy Call on Speaker of the National Assembly, Advocate Jacob Mudenda this Wednesday with preparations for the Pan African Parliament Elections high on the agenda.

The Algerian Ambassador to Zimbabwe told journalists after the meeting that they discussed a number of issues including cooperation between the two nations at parliament level and the upcoming Pan African Parliament Elections where Zimbabwe’s Chief Fortune Charumbira is vying for the Presidency.

“We had a very interesting discussion where we talked about the cooperation and relations to achieve the solidarity of friendship which exists between the two countries and how we can work to organise the Jord Commission  between the 2 countries, the other issue is about the Pan African Elections,” he said.

Ambassador Yazid also denounced the sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by the West, and noted the importance of synergies between the two countries in the areas of education and business.

The potential is there for both countries and we have to identify sectors which we can find business opportunities, We are going to resume school as soon as possible by next year,” he added.

Zimbabwe and Algeria share cordial relations dating back to the liberation struggle when freedom fighters got military support from the North African country.
