DRC President, HE Félix Tshisekedi re-elected into office

PRESIDENT Félix Tshisekedi has been declared the winner of Democratic Republic of Congo’s December 20 election.

According to results released by the DRC Independent Electoral Commission, Dr Tshisekedi won about 73% of the vote, with his nearest challenger, Moise Katumbi on 18%.

Election chief, Mr Denis Kadima said despite some logistical challenges, the election results reflected the will of the Congolese people.

The Democratic Republic of Congo’s Constitutional Court is expected to confirm the provisional results on January 10.

President Tshisekedi will be sworn in for a second term on 20 January 2024.
