Police hunt for man exposed on the DNA show for rape

THE Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating a matter which went viral on social media after the release of an episode of the DNA show hosted by Tinashe Mugabe exposed an uncle for having ‘non consensual’ sex and impregnating his 14-year-old niece.

The video suggests that the victim was sexually abused after a football match where she had taken alcohol before the suspect allegedly raped her.

The girl could not narrate her story on the show as she was in tears, the uncle however did confess to having been intimate with her without her consent.

In a statement, the police said they are investigating the matter.

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has addressed the Masvingo police-motorist video that has been circulating on various social media platforms stating that the motorist evaded a police roadblock before the recorded incident.

In a statement, the ZRP says a member of the public assisted the police with his private motor vehicles to pursue the suspect to Flo Garages in Masvingo, where the suspect became confrontational and violent towards the police.

The ZRP has implored the public to desist from being confrontational with the police and raising false allegations.
