Matabeleland North Province has pledged to play its part towards the attainment of ZANU PF’s target of 5 million votes in the 2023 general elections.
A ZANU PF inter district meeting held in Umguza ahead of the party’s annual national people’s Conference set for Bindura next month saw delegates agreeing on the need for unity of purpose in the party’s mobilisation drive ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The inter-district meeting also placed its seal of approval on the candidature and leadership of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
“Our first resolution is to support President Mnangagwa. We will secure the 5 million votes; it is achievable,” ZANU PF Matabeleland North Provincial Chairperson Cde Richard Moyo said.
The Women and youth leagues are also on board.
“As the Youth League we support our President and we also want land to be accessible to farmers,” said DCC Youth Affairs Secretary, Cde Remigious Komboni.
Cde Sindiso Nkomo, the DCC Secretary for Women Affairs said: “We want the women’s quota to remain. The Women’s Bank must also assist women.”
This comes at a time when Matabeleland North province has benefited from a number of developmental projects being implemented by the Second Republic including the emergency road rehabilitation programme.
