THE 35th African Union Summit has officially opened in Addis Ababa with a call by those in attendance to silence the guns in many troubled countries and for Africans to find African solutions to many of the challenges affecting the people of the continent.
The President cde E.D Mnangagwa is in attendance.
United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres through a video link from New York said his organisation will continue standing with Africa for the betterment of her people.
Outgoing Chairman of the African Union Felix Tshisekedi said the past year has been difficult due to COVID-19 whilst the incoming Chairman Mr Macky Sally of Senegal said his work is cut out and health is his priority.
He also added that development and resource beneficiaries are also paramount to him.
