THE Bulawayo Metropolitan Handball Association has stepped up preparations for the resumption of the 2021 Handball League which was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Seven teams from the Southern region will have a chance to fight for Honours after the association got the green light to conclude the 2021 season before embarking on the 2022 journey in March.
Confirming the development to ZBC News, Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Handball Chairperson Taurai Ngwenya said they have put everything in place for the safe return of the game.
“I’m glad that the government gave us another green-light this year to continue with the sport hence we want to finish the 2021 season before we commence the new one and I can safely say seven teams from Mat North, Mat South and Bulawayo will compete against each other in the 2021 season,” he said.
The league games which are starting on the 12th of next month will be played in three different provinces, Mat North, South and Bulawayo under the Bio bubble concept.
