2 850 frontline workers get vaccine in Mash East

The Covid-19 vaccination programme is progressing well in Mashonaland East province, with government reiterating its commitment to the protection of frontline workers.

Provincial Medical Director, Dr Paul Matsvimbo reassured frontline workers of the vaccine’s efficacy and safety at an awareness campaign at Mahusekwa Hospital.

“We have had no reports of adverse effects emanating from the covid-19 vaccine so there is nothing to fear,” said Dr Matsvimbo.

Mashonaland East Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Senator Aplonia Munzverengwi reiterated government’s commitment to ensuring that all frontline workers are protected from the virus.

Said Minister Munzverengwi, “The government is committed to protecting the health of frontline workers so I urge you to be vaccinated and not listen to social media reports.”

A total of 2 850 frontline workers have so far been vaccinated in Mashonaland East against a provincial target of 8 200.
