17 year old kills three senior citizens in cold blood

VILLAGERS in Muchini area of Buhera South have been left in a state of shock and fear following the gruesome murder of three senior citizens, with a 17-year old teenager confessing to having committed the crime.
Three senior citizens; one aged 86, his 74-year-old wife and 80 year old sister were allegedly murdered in cold blood at around midnight on Thursday by a 17 year old teenager from the same village.
The teenager who identified himself as Energy Chipinda confessed to having committed the crime in a suspected act of revenge.
“Ndakasvika kuma 11pm ndichibva kubhawa ndichida kuvauraya nekuti vakauraya amai na baba vangu ndichiri mudiki. Ndaida kuuraya baba ava chete, mbuya vaitondifarira but hameno kuti ndakavaurairei,” he said.
A neighbour, Phenias Chikomba narrated how the events unfolded.
“Takanzwa mhere-mhere kuma 11 uyu mukomana achidanidzira kuti wese anongosvika pano ndomuuraya. Ndakabva ndanomutsa mukoma wangu ndokufonera mupurisa kwakusvika tichiona ropa rakazara razara pasi apa imba ichibvira….,” he said.
Village neighbourhood watchman, Rafious Government Chirume was the first to respond.
“Pandakafonerwa ndabva ndasvika kwakuuya pano kwakuwana vanhu vatoshaya. Ndakabva ndanzwa nekamwana kepano kuti ndi Energy anga azviita ndokubva ndanomusunga manheru…..,” he said.
Buhera South Legislator, Cde Joseph Chinotimba who is related to the deceased said they are yet to come to terms with loss of three family members.
“We are shocked as a family because we can’t even begin to think of what could have gone wrong to this extent of killing three people especially for a boy as young as seventeen,” he said.
Police officer commanding Chipinge District Chief Superintendent Kennedy Nyaumwe confirmed the incident, saying investigations are underway.
