10 junior riders leave for BMX Championships in South Africa

10 junior riders are leaving the country this evening for South Africa to take part in the Gauteng BMX Championships that are on this weekend.
The Olympic sport, which has been growing in leaps and bounds, will see young cyclists returning to action in South Africa this coming weekend at the Gauteng BMX Championships.
The BMX championships will be used to assess athletes ahead of the national championships that’s are set for July in Harare.
“We have been idle for a long time so we are preparing our cyclists to make sure that they are ready for the national championships and also some who have Olympic qualifiers, going to south Africa we would be happy with bringing medals but let’s not get ahead of ourselves because of where we are coming from,” said Andrew Mwanjira, Cycling Coach.
The riders are happy with the opportunity.
“I have been training since the start of the year for this champs and I hm. Happy to get the opportunity,” said Joe Ruwoko, Cyclist.
“I am happy I want to be Zim 1 and I want to bring only gold medals,” said Nkosilathi Nkala another Cyclist.
Emmanuel Gore, who is among the athletes, is preparing for the Olympic qualifiers that are in in July.
